Botox for wrinkles

If the oft-quoted fountain of youth actually exists, its water probably contains botulinum toxin, or Botox for short. If you want to benefit from this effect, don't go swimming in it, but instead have the drug injected into your skin. Wrinkles are visibly smoothed and the youthful appearance is restored.

Smooth and beautiful skin with Botox
The active ingredient botulinum toxin is best known under the synonym Botox, the brand name of a preparation for injection into the skin. Used correctly, it can minimize crow's feet, frown lines or thinker lines and make your face a few years younger.

Botulinum toxin has been used for over 30 years for specific muscle and nerve diseases in children and adults. However, Botox is more often used to prevent or treat expression lines. As a preventive measure, Botox can be injected into the facial skin at a young age so that muscle strands that lead to expression lines are inhibited and wrinkles do not form in the first place. Already existing wrinkles are smoothed by the muscle relaxation that Botox causes.

One of the most well-known side effects of Botox is the mask-like face, but this is almost impossible if used correctly and the necessary dose is calculated precisely. In some cases there are bruises at the injection site, very rarely headaches or red eyes occur, the eyelids may be weakened and therefore droop. In some cases, Botox can affect your mood.

The use of Botox is considered very safe. However, there are still no long-term studies for the active ingredient. To be on the safe side, we recommend that you take out beautyprotect. If follow-up treatments are necessary after your Botox application, we will cover the costs.

Instructions for preparing for Botox application
The Botox application is not a surgical procedure, so the effects or “strain” on your body are relatively minor. However, because a specific active ingredient is injected, it is important that you tolerate it well and that it does not interact with other medications you are taking.

  • Caution is advised when taking certain antibiotics or muscle relaxants. Discuss this with your doctor.
  • You should also be able to rule out allergies to botulinum toxin or other components of the preparation.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should avoid Botox treatment.
What you should consider after the Botox injection
Basically, after the Botox application, you will be able to socialize straight away and should not expect any restrictions. You can cover up minor redness with make-up. Swelling or slight bruising will subside after a few days. The following measures will improve the effect of Botox.

  • Make sure you keep your head upright, i.e. do not lie down, for about three hours after your Botox injection. During this time the active ingredient can finally bind.
  • Cool any swelling with cold compresses or cooling pads.
  • Avoid strenuous physical exertion and sport within the first two days.
  • Do not drink alcohol on the day of your application.
  • Wait for one to two weeks before facial massages as they can negatively affect the results.
  • You can see the results of the Botox treatment after just two to four days. The maximum effect is achieved after four to six weeks at the latest.
