The wrinkle injection

Fillers such as hyaluronic acid or collagen are serious Botox competitors. The wrinkle injection does not require a scalpel, but still ensures a fresher and younger appearance. The effects can even be almost as permanent as a facelift – depending on the “material” that is injected.

The wrinkle injection for smooth, shiny results
Wrinkle injections with fillers “plump up” small wrinkles, nose-mouth wrinkles, forehead wrinkles or unwanted lines around the eyes. The application takes between 30 and 60 minutes and is relatively painless. The result appears shortly afterwards: smooth skin and a radiant, fresh expression on the face.

What fillers are there and what makes them special? Hyaluronic acid and collagen are most commonly used for wrinkle injections. They occur in the body and can be broken down by the body within three months. Wrinkle injections with poly-L-lactic acid, on the other hand, last up to two years. However, with this active ingredient, the treating doctor can not only smooth out wrinkles, but also build volume over large areas such as the cheeks or décolleté. Another form of wrinkle injection allows treatment with your own fat. The advantages include that there are almost no intolerances and the effect can be permanent. The body's own fat largely grows into the relevant areas and is retained in the long term.

Wrinkle injections with the fillers mentioned above are comparatively low-risk. Swelling and redness, and sometimes bruising, are more common. More serious complications that require follow-up treatment include encapsulation or the formation of nodules and bulges as well as discoloration. Be prepared for these cases with insurance from beautyprotect.

Instructions for preparing for wrinkle injections
Usually, wrinkle injections with fillers hardly have any serious side effects. There are still a few steps you can take to help achieve the desired success and rapid healing.

  • From two weeks before the anti-wrinkle injection, stop taking any blood-thinning medications, such as painkillers or sleeping pills.
  • Avoid cigarettes to avoid bruising and disrupt wound healing.
  • You should rule out allergies to the active ingredient in advance. To do this, your doctor will carry out appropriate tests in advance.
  • The skin of the area to be treated should be healthy, i.e. not show any inflammation or skin diseases.
  • On the day of the anti-wrinkle injection, simply clean your face with water. Then avoid using creams or make-up.
What you should consider after anti-wrinkle injections
Wrinkle injections are a minimally invasive procedure. That's why you'll be socially acceptable again straight away and should only expect a few restrictions. Follow the tips below and you will quickly see visible results.

  • Cool any redness or swelling with ointment or cold compresses.
  • If possible, do not touch the treated areas for about six hours.
  • You should avoid strenuous exertion, such as exercise, for the first two days.
  • It is best not to drink alcohol on the day of the anti-wrinkle injection. This will help you avoid bruising.
  • Until redness or swelling has subsided, you should avoid heat, i.e. avoid going to the sauna, sun or solarium.
